ProtectMyID is a new identity theft protection service which is being offered by Experian. While ProtectMyID is relatively new on the identity theft protection market, many of the features which they provide are very similar to what industry leaders offer, often at a better price.

Features
One of the best features offered by the ProtectMyID service is the fact that all of your credit and debit cards are closely monitored for any unauthorized activity. If any unauthorized activity does make it through, ProtectMyID will back these charges with their own money, which means you pay absolutely nothing. This protection also extends to your children, meaning if someone attempts to open an account in your child’s name, you will be alerted immediately.

Recovery
Since prevention is a big part of keeping identity theft from happening, ProtectMyID offers a number of features which keep identity thieves at bay. However, in the unlikely event that identity theft does occur, ProtectMyID is there with $1 million dollars of insurance to help cover the costs of legal fees and other costs associated with reclaiming your identity. You’ll even have Experian’s Fraud Resolution Department working with you to help reclaim your identity.

Customer Support
Because customer service is so important to ProtectMyID, Experian is working to ensure that customers have 24 hour access to their assistance line in the event of an emergency. However, current phone hours are from 6am to 6pm PST on weekdays, and 8am to 5pm PST on weekends. Email support is provided 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Prices
